Interview questions
BJ: Just answer
these truthfully because even your criticisms can be directions for further
research or something.
I only watched it twice.
Definitely. The visual idea of
things was just perfect.
In terms of?
BJ: Well
had a comment that it was too fast and I was
thinking you can always press pause or replay or whatever.
Yes but if people aren’t familiar that you can do that in Flash then
that was one thing. (BJ: Note to reader:
The Flash player doesn’t have the versatility that I thought it did . This has now been rectified by converting all
of the video files to video format so that these functions are available).
I find that when you’re doing different topics they could be broken up
so they’re not in the same format all the time.
Even using a colour or a different form of layout.
BJ: You mean a
bit of variety?
Yes, definitely.
BJ: I was going
to have a colored background for each one but I tried not to have anything in there
that wasn’t needing to be there. That’s
something I can look at.
I’d say from Grade 5 onwards they would easily be able to understand
them.
BJ: I originally
wrote them for children but the ethics approval was even more involved than
what it was for this so that’s why it ended up being adults.
U2 in 1985.
“New Forms” by Ronnie Size and “Come with us” by the Chemical Brothers.
I think the best way to learn music and things like that is with
visualization. When you think of reading
music it’s a very visual medium. In
terms of looking at the notes and everything it’s just bang, bang, bang so to
read music with that extra element of animation, I reckon it’s a really good
format.
